Tempe police: Man severely injured after hit by suspected impaired driver
A pedestrian was hit and taken to the hospital with serious injuries on Friday after being hit by a suspected impaired driver, according to Tempe police.
PHOENIX — A man was struck by a vehicle in Tempe around 4 p.m. on Friday, according to Tempe police.
The pedestrian was hit outside of the crosswalk while crossing Broadway Road near Hardy Drive and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Detective Gabe Gomez.
Gomez said that the driver is believed to have been impaired and was arrested.

Gomez also said that the westbound lanes of Broadway Road will be closed while the investigation is ongoing.
