The Tempe Police Department introduced the newest addition to its K9 unit on Friday. His name is Cash.
The pup’s name is fitting as he and his handler have helped seize more than $2 million in street-value narcotics and illegal drug proceeds.
The department described Cash as hard working with a nose for drugs.
Tempe Police has five full-time K9 teams, according to its website. They are trained to detect drugs and explosives. They also help with searches, apprehending suspects and community events.
The K9s live with their handlers and integrate into their family to ensure a good work-life balance.
