PHOENIX — A Tempe-based animal rescue facility will expand operations after receiving two donations that will allow officials to purchase and improve its building.

The Lost Our Home Pet Rescue said in a statement that it received an anonymous $1 million donation that will allow officials to purchase the building it occupies.

Another $250,000 donation from the Rachael Ray Foundation will help the organization “make improvements to the building,” the statement added.

But the organization will continue to raise money through its Home At Last campaign. The campaign will attempt to raise $500,000 in order to make improvements and renovations to a building that houses about 80 cats and dogs.

In a statement, founder and executive director Jodi Polanski said the organization will “create a new medical room to treat sick pets and administer vaccinations, improve safety features, increase capacity and enhance overall quality and comfort for the animals.”
