Driver dies after crashing pickup truck into telephone pole in Glendale

A man died over the weekend after crashing into a telephone pole in Glendale, authorities said.

PHOENIX – A man died over the weekend after crashing into a telephone pole in Glendale, authorities said.

Officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Camelback Road near 64th Avenue around 3 a.m. Saturday, according to the Glendale Police Department.

Police initiated life-saving measures on 41-year-old Rinold James Bennett before fire department responders rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Bennett’s pickup truck was the only vehicle involved in the collision. However, a person who drove into the crime scene area while it was cordoned off was arrested for DUI, police said.
