PHOENIX — A teenage driver allegedly went the wrong way on a Chandler freeway and hit another driver on Monday morning, officials said.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the cars collided headlamp-to-headlamp near Warner Road and the southbound Loop 101 about 9 a.m.

Spokesman Raul Garcia said the 16-year-old driver and a 37-year-old victim were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said the three left lanes of the freeway were blocked by the crash, which caused delays for some drivers.

Investigators were working to figure out where the girl got on the freeway. It was unknown if she was impaired.
