Teenager dead after overnight shooting in Tempe, police say
A teenager is dead after a fatal shooting in Tempe that took place shortly before 2 a.m. on Friday, according to the Tempe Police Department.

PHOENIX — A teenager is dead after an early morning shooting on Friday in Tempe, authorities said.
Officers with the Tempe Police Department arrived to the scene near E. Playa Del Norte Drive and Loop 202 shortly before 2 a.m.
They found a person, who was later identified as a 17-year-old male, with a gunshot wound. Officer attempted lifesaving efforts and Tempe Fire and Medical Rescue responded.
However, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
No suspects have been identified.
