Arrest made after teen killed in shooting near Tempe Town Lake

Tempe police were able to find an arrest a 19 year old who allegedly shot and killed another teen in late July.

PHOENIX — A 19-year-old man was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly shot and killed a teen in Tempe last month, authorities said.

Tempe police said a 17-year-old was shot and killed in the early morning hours of July 25 near Scottsdale Road and the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway on the north side of Tempe Town Lake.

The department did not give any details about the shooting or what led up to it but said a suspect was identified as 19-year-old Edwin Edward Denis.

(UPDATE: Two more arrests have been made in the case.

After following leads, police found Denis and took him into custody just after 7 p.m. on Thursday.

The investigation is still open and anyone with information can call Tempe police at 480-350-8311.

In yet another public failure to provide accurate information, depending on which KTAR story you read, the victim is either 16 or 17 years old and Denis is either 18 or 19.
Outside of garbage in and garbage out cut and paste press releases disguised as real journalism, is it really that hard for KTAR to provide accurate information?
