Take a hike! Arizona State Parks offering free admission on MLK Jr. Day

PHOENIX – Arizonans who visit any state park on Monday will get in free in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the parks system announced.

Entry fees will be waived for residents at more than 30 sites, Arizona State Parks and Trails said in a press release.

Charges will still apply to camping, tours of Kartchner Caverns and Riordan Mansion, special events and concessions.

Park visitors will need to show their Arizona ID to take advantage of the free admission.

“I encourage everyone to get outside on Monday and visit a state park to enjoy nature, beautiful views and our unbeatable winter weather,” Gov. Doug Ducey said in the press release.

A list of state parks and natural areas can be found on the online.

National parks will also offer free admission for MLK Jr. Day.
