Suspect surrenders to police after barricading inside Peoria home

A suspect was taken into custody after barricading inside of a home in Peoria on Friday night, authorities said.

Officers responded to reports of a potentially impaired driver and found them inside a vehicle in the driveway of a residence, according to the Peoria Police Department.

While investigating, the driver became physically combative with police before fleeing inside of the home.

The suspect eventually surrendered without incident.

This was an isolated incident, police said.
