Suspect outstanding after man found dead in Phoenix apartment

PHOENIX — Police are searching for a suspect after finding a man dead in a Phoenix apartment on Friday, authorities said.

At around 4 p.m., police responded to a call at an apartment near 11th Avenue and Tonto Street. Upon arrival, police found 35-year-old Darius Smith dead on scene with signs of trauma. 

Authorities said foul play is suspected in the case. No other information about a suspect was made available.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities also asked that anyone with information about the suspect reach out to Phoenix Police or call Silent Witness anonymously at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446) for Spanish.
