Residents asked to shelter in place as suspect barricades himself after Glendale police shooting

The suspect was still barricaded as of around 4:25 p.m. and was discharging weapons at officers.

An active barricade situation is underway in Glendale after police were involved in a shooting Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The shooting took place near 75th and Glendale avenues, according to the Glendale Police Department.

The suspect was still barricaded as of around 4:25 p.m. and was discharging weapons at officers.

Authorities noted that multiple police cars had been hit by projectiles.

Police advised neighbors to shelter in place.
