The incident occurred at the Purple Turtle sports bar, according to court documents, which said dispatchers could hear gunfire in the background while taking the emergency calls.

Responding officers found three men with gunshot wounds, two of them with life-threatening injuries, police said.

One of the victims was shot 14 times, and another four times, according to the probable cause statement. The third victim was shot in one foot and had injuries on the other foot.

The gunfire reportedly followed an altercation between a group of people and the security guards, police said.

Detectives working the case developed probable cause to arrest Samarripas, police said.
