Suburban Phoenix ice cream shop named among best in the nation

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — With summer right around the corner, nothing is better than kicking back with a cold ice cream cone on a hot day.

Just in time for you to press pause on working toward your hot summer bod, Thrillist.com named a Scottsdale, Arizona ice creamery among the top ice cream shops in the nation.

Sweet Republic, located at 9160 E. Shea Blvd, boasts an extensive menu of flavors, including Salted Butter Caramel, Peaberry Espresso and Kulfi, which is described as a mix of cardamon and pistachio.

This is the second year the Scottsdale institution has made Thrillist’s list, citing the ice cream flavors and environmentally-conscious practices as a couple reasons why.

Classics: Rocky Road (toasted almonds and housemade marshmallows in milk choc) and Real Mint Chip in waffle bowls. For the adventurous , we have Coconut Cashew Curry at both stores, Habanero Bacon Avocado at the Shea store and Coffee & Donuts 🍩 at 16th St!

“Though we’re usually partial to pure ice cream,” the website said, they recommend customers try a Brown Cow, which blends the shop’s Madagascar vanilla ice cream and Mexican Coke to create a whirlwind of flavors.
