Man found dead from stabbing in Phoenix front yard after apparent domestic dispute

A man was found dead from an apparent stabbing in the front yard of a Phoenix home early Saturday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man was found dead from a stab wound in the front yard of a Phoenix home early Saturday morning after police responded to a domestic violence call, authorities said.

Officers responded to the home near Indian School Road and 44th Street around 3:20 a.m. on Saturday where it found the man, identified as 50-year-old Erick Michael Chapman.

When the Phoenix Fire Department arrived to the scene, it pronounced Chapman dead.

Police detained a man at the home who admitted to involvement in the stabbing, and he was also hospitalized for injuries that wouldn’t threaten his life.

Once out of the hospital, the man was interviewed by police at the Phoenix headquarters and then released, pending the results of investigation.

No other information was released.
