Police investigating after man stabbed to death outside west Phoenix gas station

PHOENIX – A man was stabbed to death outside a west Phoenix gas station on Sunday night, authorities said.

Officers responded to a stabbing call near the QuikTrip at 27th Avenue and Thomas Road around 7:10 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The victim, 35-year-old Ryan Festa, was rushed to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Investigators currently believe Festa was stabbed at a bus stop next to the gas station. Festa allegedly walked to QuikTrip to get help, police said.

However, the suspect left before police arrived.

No suspects have been found, but detectives are actively following leads, police said.

It was the second homicide near the same intersection in a span of three days.

A man was shot and killed in the area during what police believe was a robbery attempt early Friday. Two suspects in that case were arrested.
