SRP customers being targeted by utility scams

Scammers are targeting SRP customers throughout the Valley, and the company warns customers to beware of unusual activity.

Salt River Project is warning customers to be on the lookout to an increasing amount of utility scams.

The company has stated that there are several signs to look for, including poor phone quality, vague description of details or requirements and callers or visitors trying to convince customers to pay a past due charge.

Scammers are known to contact clients via telephone, text message, email or visit them in person at their homes. SRP urges customers to be vigilant and to contact their Residential Contact Center at (602)236-8888 or Business Contact Center at (602)236-8833 regarding any suspicious activity.

Ways to notice if an SRP employee is legitimate, they always wear company uniforms, identification badges, drive the company vehicle with SRP’s name and logo and will only enter a customer’s home upon request.
