Teen arrested in connection to south Phoenix shooting that left 1 dead, 1 hospitalized

PHOENIX — A teen has been arrested in connection to a south Phoenix shooting that left one man dead and a women in the hospital on Tuesday.

Victor Morales-Jimenez was booked into jail on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault on Saturday after turning himself into police, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of shooting near Seventh Street and Dobbins Road around 2:20 a.m.

When police arrived on scene, they found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to the hospital.

The man, identified later as 48-year-old Victor Morales Lubvio, died from his injuries at the hospital.

The woman, meanwhile, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

No other information was provided.
