Sorry, Darth: AMC asks ‘Star Wars’ fans to leave masks at home

PHOENIX — Darth Vader may be your favorite character, but AMC Theaters is asking “Star Wars” fans to leave masks at home before “The Force Awakens” opens this week.

The theater chain’s policy forbids any masks and, for those thinking they found a way around it, face paint is out as well.

However, fans can still get into the Sith spirit. The theater’s policy said costumes are welcomed and lightsabers are permitted, though they will need to be switched off during the movie.

After all, nothing makes a Jedi master angrier (wait, is that possible?) than his own lightsaber spoiling the movie environment.

“The Force Awakens” opens Thursday.
