PHOENIX – Randy Johnson is out of there.

The Hall of Fame pitcher finally unloaded his Paradise Valley mansion, which sold at auction Thursday for well below the $25 million he was asking when it first went on the market.

New York-based Concierge Auctions told KTAR News 92.3 FM that the sale is still pending and the price wouldn’t be released until at least 30 days after the transaction closes.

However, according to a press release from the Joffe Group of Launch Real Estate, which listed the 5-acre property, the Big Unit is letting go of the big estate for $7.3 million.

Don’t feel bad for the Arizona Diamondbacks legend, who earned more than $175 million during his 22-year major league career, which ended in 2009.

Johnson, who works for the D-backs as a special assistant to President/CEO Derrick Hall, won four Cy Young Awards as the National League’s best pitcher during his eight seasons with the team.

He was the World Series co-MVP when the franchise won its only championship in 2001.

The 25,000-square-foot home, which was built at the base of Mummy Mountain in 2006, had been on the market since 2014, when it drew attention, but no buyer, with its lofty price tag.

Johnson dropped the asking price twice last year, to just under $20 million in January and to $16.5 million in October, before opting to go the auction route.

The buyer, who hasn’t been identified, will get to enjoy the seven-bedroom, 12-bathroom property’s tennis court, home theater, fitness center, pool and guest house.

We want to hear from you.
