Smoke from car fire closes Interstate 10 west of Phoenix

PHOENIX — A car caught fire and closed the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Litchfield Road Wednesday evening.

All traveling vehicles caught behind the fire exited at Litchfield Road or Bullard Avenue. The westbound lanes stayed open but were affected by heavy smoke from the fire.

Delays were in both directions and the interstate opened back up just before 10 p.m.
