Missing 74-year-old found safe in Surprise; Silver Alert canceled

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert for a Valley man with memory issues was canceled early Monday after he was found safe, authorities said.

Officers with the Surprise Police Department found Frederick Buford, 74, near Grand Avenue and Greenway Road. He had last been seen early Saturday afternoon near Bell Road and Cotton Lane, authorities said.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said Buford was back with his family.
