Silver Alert canceled after Phoenix man, 72, was found in good health

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was canceled Friday after a 72-year-old man who’d gone missing the previous day was located in good health, authorities said.

Fernando Zuniga was last seen around 2 p.m. Thursday after leaving his home on foot near 35th Avenue and McDowell Road.

He was located by family members around 3:30 p.m. Friday near Van Buren Street and 27th Avenue, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Phoenix Fired Department responders checked him out and said he was healthy.

He only speaks Spanish and can appear confused or disoriented due to memory loss.
