Silver Alert canceled for 77-year-old man found in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was canceled Sunday morning for a 77-year-old Phoenix man found near Cave Creek and Beardsley roads.

Werner Schager was last seen on Saturday around 7:20 a.m. near 38th Street and Bell Road, wearing a blue and gray jacket with brown shoes.

Authorities say he left the area on foot. He was found nearly four miles from the location he was last seen.

He is described as having a scruffy beard and a partially shaved head with a large scar on the left side of his head.

Schager has a medical condition that may cause him to appear confused and disoriented, according to officials.
