North Phoenix shooting leaves man dead in residence, suspect at large

PHOENIX — The suspect in a north Phoenix shooting is at large after a man died in a home on Thursday, authorities said.
Officers responded to a home near 13th Avenue and Sequoia Drive shortly after 1 p.m. when a woman flagged police down, stating someone had been shot nearby.
After establishing containment at the residence, officers found 40-year-old William Nyborg inside with at least one gunshot wound. Nyborg was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect was gone from the area before police arrived, and circumstances of the incident were not immediately clear.
The case was being turned over to detectives.
