Suspect on loose, victim dead after Monday’s 2nd shooting in Tempe

PHOENIX – Authorities are searching for a suspect after one person was killed in Monday morning’s second shooting in Tempe.

The second shooting occurred around 11 a.m. in a parking lot outside Road Runner Sports in Tempe Marketplace, a large outdoor mall near McClintock Drive and Rio Salado Parkway, according to the Tempe Police Department.

The victim, 19-year-old Dominic Baysinger, was with his girlfriend while meeting the suspect to complete an online transaction, authorities said.

The suspect then shot Baysinger and left the area.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Baysinger with critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspect in Monday’s second deadly shooting in Tempe remains at large

The search for the suspect is ongoing. Police have been interviewing witnesses and using their Real Time Operations Center to gather more information.

Earlier Monday, two people died and a suspect was arrested after a shooting at the Little Caesars pizza shop near Rural and Guadalupe roads.
