Sen. Martha McSally to hold telephone town hall with Lindsey Graham

U.S. Sen. Martha McSally announced she will hold a telephone town hall for Arizonans on immigration, border security and other issues.

PHOENIX – U.S. Sen. Martha McSally announced Friday she will hold a telephone town hall for Arizonans on immigration, border security and other issues.

Fellow Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina will also take part in the event, which is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Arizonans can call in at 855-531-1067 to participate or text “SenMcSally” (one word) to 828282 to register.

McSally is a co-sponsor of a bill introduced by Graham that attempts to discourage Central American migrants from traveling to the U.S.-Mexico border and illegally crossing into the country.

McSally told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s Arizona Morning News on May 9 she hopes the “loophole-closing legislation,” titled The Secure and Protect Act of 2019, will be brought to the Senate floor and gain support from both parties.

“We need to have pressure on the other side of the aisle; we need 60 votes in order to move any legislation forward,” she said.

“It’s going to take the American people putting pressure on the Democrats to say, ‘Stop playing games, come to the table, close the loopholes, secure the border.’”
