PHOENIX — Forbes Travel Guide on Tuesday named a luxury Scottsdale cocktail lounge to its list of the best hotel bars in the world.

The magazine sent inspectors to nearly 1,100 hotels across the globe to evaluate them based on hundreds of standards, which included aspects of the bars’ beverage menu, presentation, atmosphere and service.

The Thirsty Camel Lounge at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, near 64th Street and Camelback Road, was recognized as one of the top 44 across the globe.

It also praised the Thirsty Camel’s empanadas, churros, live music and terrace with sunset views.

Other spots included in the list were the American Bar in London, the Oriental Lounge in Tokyo and the Il Bar in Bali.

Three bars in California were also recognized — The Club Bar in Beverly Hills, Park Lounge in Carlsbad and 33° North in Dana Point.
