PHOENIX — A Scottsdale man was indicted after posting videos of himself driving a motorcycle at speeds of up to 187 mph while fleeing from police, authorities announced on Thursday.

Brett Carlin, 27, was initially arrested by state troopers on Oct. 1 for felony flight and reckless driving, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol.

He was then indicted by a grand jury on Oct. 7 on two counts of unlawful flight from a law enforcement vehicle and two counts of reckless driving.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said Carlin was “baiting law enforcement into pursuits.”

In some of Carlin’s videos, he can be seen waving at police before weaving through traffic at speeds upwards of 150 mph on the Loop 101.

Mitchell said Carlin’s reckless driving took place on two separate dates, July 24 and Aug. 20.

The 27-year-old man was booked under a $20,000 secured appearance bond, typically meaning he will be required to pay 10% of the total in cash and post the rest in collateral in order to be released, MCAO said.
