Scottsdale-based GoDaddy will not have a Super Bowl commercial this year
A staple in the world of Super Bowl commercials, Scottsdale-based GoDaddy will not have a Super Bowl ad for the first time in 11 Super Bowls.
A staple in the world of Super Bowl commercials, Scottsdale-based GoDaddy will not have a Super Bowl ad for the first time in 11 years.
Known for their raunchy and provocative ads, GoDaddy will move to more worldwide branding according to Business Insider.
New CEO Blake Irving, who has had the position since January of 2013, unveiled his “strategic plans” in July of 2013. That includes a different approach in advertisement.
With this new approach, GoDaddy is targeting smaller businesses with their more humorous ads.
This comes after perhaps the biggest outrage from a GoDaddy Super Bowl commercial in February of this year, when the company pulled their ad off the air. The ad, a spoof of the infamous Budweiser commercials involving dogs, had more than 40,000 signatures for an online petition to have it off the air.
Past ads featured NASCAR driver Danica Patrick as the GoDaddy spokeswoman and WWE diva Candice Michelle.
