Student on scooter injured in collision with police vehicle near Peoria High School
A student who was riding a scooter Thursday morning in Peoria was injured in a collision with a police vehicle.

PHOENIX – A student who was riding a scooter Thursday morning in Peoria was injured in a collision with a police vehicle, authorities said.
The incident occurred before 7 a.m. near 83rd Avenue and Cholla Street, alongside Peoria High School.
The Peoria Police Department described the injured scooter rider as a student but did not provide an age or confirm a connection to the high school.
The student was taken to a hospital with minor injuries and the officer who was driving the marked patrol vehicle was not hurt, police said.
A section of southbound 83rd Avenue was closed after the collision but has since reopened.
The investigation is ongoing.
