PHOENIX — A Phoenix-area burger has been tabbed as one of the most underrated in the nation by a food and lifestyle website.
Thrillist said the Standard with cheeseburger at the Stand in Phoenix is a burger that should be garnering (garnishing?) a lot of attention, but seems to be flying under the Hamburglar’s radar. And with Friday being National Cheeseburger Day, we felt we should call your taste buds’ attention to the issue.
While the Stand — near 36th Street and Indian School Road — is a popular eatery, Thrillist said diners should do themselves “a solid” and order the Standard with cheese, but skip the tomato. Instead, the website suggested opting for the butter caramelized onions and grilled jalapenos with an extra side of Stand sauce for dipping purposes.
In the interest of transparency, we’ve tabbed the Stand as having some of the best burgers in the Valley.
