PHOENIX — Sammy Hagar is scheduled to headline the second annual “Rock the Block” concert at the Barrett-Jackson car auction early next year.
Sammy Hagar and Friends will fill WestWorld of Scottsdale with classic rock music on Jan. 17.
Tickets for the concert will go on sale online this Friday.
What are Sammy Hagar’s ties to Scottsdale car show?
Hagar, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Van Halen in 2007, also is a car enthusiast.
Last month, he joined Barrett-Jackson on the auction block to sell his 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari, which set a world auction record when it sold for $4.7 million.
Hagar has amassed 25 platinum albums with sales surpassing $50 million.
“Sammy Hagar is truly one of the most iconic rock stars of our time, and he puts on an unforgettable show,” Craig Jackson, the chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson, said in a press release. “He is fresh off his world tour and the sale of his 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari at the Scottsdale Fall Auction. I am thrilled to welcome my friend back to kick off an incredible auction week.”
Following the “Rock the Block” concert, Barrett-Jackson’s 2025 Scottsdale Auction will run Jan. 18-26.
It will feature approximately 1,800 collectible cars, trucks and SUVs.
2025 will be busy for rock star Sammy Hagar
The Scottsdale concert is just one of many items in Hagar’s busy schedule next year.
Last week, the famous rock star announced he’ll launch a second version of last year’s “The Best of All Worlds Tour.”
Next year’s tour will be a new residency show exclusively playing in Las Vegas at Park MGM from April 30 to May 17. He’ll be joined by fellow rock stars Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Kenny Aronoff.
“I’m so looking forward to this residency and being able to stay in one place so we can get the sound and production completely dialed in,” Hagar said in a news release. “It also allows the band to experiment with the setlist every night – that’s why it’s going to be exclusive to Las Vegas.”
