MCSO find dead body of 65-year-old man last seen paddleboarding at Saguaro Lake
A 65-year-old man's dead body was located at Saguaro Lake on Wednesday after he went missing three days earlier.

PHOENIX — The dead body of a 65-year-old man was located at Saguaro Lake on Wednesday, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
Richard Powers was reported missing after he was last seen Sunday morning at the lake. Specialty canines with Border Patrol Search, Trauma and Rescue helped find his body, officials said.
It was about 5:45 a.m. when he was seen paddleboarding near Saguaro Del Norte Boat Ramp 1, which is located at the northwest corner near the lake’s parking lots. His paddleboard and belongings were later found on Sunday near Captain’s Nook at the southeast area of the lake.
Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan expressed “his heartfelt condolences” to Powers’ family.
Powers’ death is under investigation.

Hopefully the ongoing pending investigation will help solve this mystery.
What a shame. An experienced paddle boarder no less. Makes you wonder if it was something like a coronary event or if some early morning boater didn't hit him and leave the scene. Pretty sure MCSO will figure it out - condolences to the family.
