SAFE Alert update: 11-year-old boy from San Tan Valley found safe

PHOENIX – An 11-year-old boy from San Tan Valley who went missing on Monday night, prompting a SAFE Alert, has been located, authorities said.

Nikolai Strelecki was found safe at another house, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday morning.

When the alert was activated earlier Tuesday, Strelecki has last been seen on foot around 9 p.m. Monday in the area of Hunt Highway and Bella Vista Road. It is believed he was wearing black and gray shorts with no shirt or shoes.

Strelecki is described as 5 feet tall and 110 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a medical condition that can cause him to become disoriented or easily confused, according to the alert.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
