SAFE Alert canceled after 76-year-old Phoenix woman located

Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Monday after the subject, a missing 76-year-old Phoenix woman, was located.

Sharon Joseph was found in a hospital by family on Friday, according to the Phoenix Police Department. Police did not say why she was hospitalized.

When the alert was issued Thursday, Joseph had last been seen about 8 p.m. Tuesday near 56th Street and Thomas Road.

Joseph is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall and 105 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.

She has a medical condition that can cause her to become confused and easily lost.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
