Authorities issued a SAFE Alert on Tuesday for a 79-year-old man who went missing after visiting a Phoenix grocery store.
Paul Martinez was last seen Sunday at the Los Altos Ranch Market at 16th and Roosevelt streets. He is believed to have boarded a northbound city bus after leaving the supermarket.
A review of his debit card transactions indicated possible activity near 16th Street and Thomas Road after he was seen at the grocery store, authorities said.
Martinez is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 135 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark colored shirt and black pants when last seen.
Martinez is diagnosed with a medical condition that can cause him to become disoriented and get lost easily.
SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
