Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert for a missing 67-year-old Phoenix man on Thursday after he was found safe.

PHOENIX — Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert for a missing 67-year-old Phoenix man after he was found safe on Thursday.

When the bulletin was issued Monday, Carl Bellows had been last seen riding his bike near 36th Street and Broadway Road around 11:30 p.m. the previous night.

Bellows was reunited with his family early Thursday after the Gila River Police Department located him, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as way to spread the word about missing persons 65 and older and missing persons of other ages who suffer from dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
