SAFE Alert canceled for 92-year-old woman last seen in Mesa

A SAFE Alert for a 92-year-old woman last seen in Mesa was canceled on Thursday, hours after it was issued.

Olga Batista was found safe, the Mesa Police Department said.

Authorities issued the SAFE Alert on Thursday morning for Batista who went missing a day earlier.

When the alert was issued, authorities said that he has a medical condition that can cause him to become easily lost or confused.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
