Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert for a missing 77-year-old Mesa man on Thursday evening.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued the alert for Heriberto Solano on Tuesday.

DPS initially said Solano had last been seen on Saturday in the area of Country Club Drive and Brown Road.

However, DPS said on Thursday that he was found safe.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
