SAFE Alert canceled after 79-year-old Maricopa man located

A missing Maricopa man was located in good condition two hours after he was made the subject of a SAFE Alert on Wednesday.

PHOENIX — A missing Maricopa man was located in good condition two hours after he was made the subject of a SAFE Alert on Wednesday, March 4, authorities said.

The alert for 79-year-old Vincent Baker was issued around 4 p.m. The Maricopa Police Department announced that he’d been found at 6 p.m. Details about how and where he was located were not released.

Baker had last been seen leaving his home earlier Wednesday when the alert was issued. He suffers from a medical condition that can cause him to become lost or easily confused.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
