SAFE Alert canceled after teenage boy from Gilbert located

PHOENIX – Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert on Friday morning after a missing teenager from Gilbert was located.

Luke Hoskins, 15, has been reunited with his family, according to the Gilbert Police Department.

When the SAFE Alert was issued Wednesday morning, Hoskins was last seen leaving his home near Gilbert and Elliot roads around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Hoskins is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 159 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. He suffers from medical conditions that can cause him to become disoriented or easily confused.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
