SAFE Alert cancelled for 40-year-old man who returned home safe

Authorities on Thursday cancelled a SAFE Alert for a 40-year-old man last seen in Apache Junction on Tuesday.

Sarkis Kalantarzadeh is safe back at home, said Pinal County authorities.

He went missing near Mountain View Road and Superstition Boulevard.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that Kalantarzadeh was wearing silver shorts and sandals, as well as a shirt, although its color is unknown.

Kalantarzadeh is 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a medical condition that can make him become disoriented or easily confused, DPS said.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
