SAFE Alert for missing 69-year-old Phoenix woman canceled

The Arizona Department of Public Safety canceled a SAFE Alert for a missing 69-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon.

PHOENIX — Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert for a missing 69-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety issued the alert for Pauline Simmons on Monday.

DPS initially said Simmons had last been seen on foot near 19th and Dunlap avenues on Thursday

However, DPS said on Tuesday that she was found safe and in good health.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
