Authorities canceled a SAFE Alert for a missing 60-year-old woman in Phoenix after Glendale police officers located Sakina Azimi at a gas station at the crossroads of Glendale Avenue and 67th Avenue.

Azimi is well and has been reunited with family.

When the SAFE Alert was first issued, Azimi didn’t return home after leaving her residence near 104th Avenue and Colter Street around 8:15 a.m. to take a bus to a doctor’s appointment.

Azimi suffers from a medical condition that could cause her to become easily confused or lost.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
