Armed robbery suspect arrested after police chase through West Valley

PHOENIX – An armed robbery suspect was arrested after a police chase through the West Valley early Sunday, authorities said.

Officers responded to a robbery call near 39th and Maryland avenues around 1:35 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Multiple armed suspects allegedly took property and fled in a vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle, but it took off when they tried to stop it.

Authorities pursued the vehicle, including by air, until it crashed into a parked car in Buckeye.

Several people got out of the vehicle and tried to run away. Police wound detaining an adult and four juveniles and recovering the stolen property.

One of the juveniles was taken to a hospital with a minor injury.

The adult, 19-year-old Jeremiah Coronado, was booked into jail on suspicion of armed robbery and other offenses. His bond was set at $250,000.
