Suspect arrested in connection with Tempe road rage incident that left a man dead

PHOENIX — A man who was shot in a road rage incident in Tempe on Tuesday afternoon has died, and a suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident, authorities said.

The Tempe Police Department said Steven Bevan, 29, was initially brought to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers responded to the area of Priest and Warner roads in response to a shooting call around 12:30 p.m., according to ABC15.

Police announced Bevan’s death shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Dustin Jackson, 46, who was involved in the shooting remained on the scene. He was later arrested and booked on multiple charges, including first-degree murder.

Authorities said there were young children in both vehicles who were unharmed in the incident.

There are no outstanding suspects or any threats to the public, police said.

The road rage incident in Tempe caused a closure of Warner Road between Priest and Commerce drives.
