More ritz is on its way to Paradise Valley. The affluent Arizona town’s council approved a development deal worth $2 billion for a Ritz-Carlton hotel.

The project will break ground in the summer and include a residential community of 45 single-family homes and 94 villas. The plan was discussed in the council’s executive session last week.

Last spring, the Phoenix Ritz-Carlton Hotel closed. It was rebranded the Camby Hotel when it reopened in December.

“Paradise Valley in Arizona will be a great new destination for our brand in the Americas,” Herve Humler, president and chief operating officer for the Ritz-Carlton, said in a statement.

The hotel will feature the longest pool on the continent, at 400 feet, according to the Phoenix Business Journal, and 200 casita-style rooms.

The site was expected to open in 2018.
