Mesa’s Revel Surf Park to host multiple record-breaking attempts, All-American Rejects concert

The Record Breakers event at Revel Surf Park in Mesa will feature multiple world record attempts and a concert from The All-American Rejects.

PHOENIX — Adrenaline junkies and fans of alternative rock will want to make sure they are at Revel Surf Park in Mesa on Jan. 31.

That’s because the park will host an event called Record Breakers, where multiple action-sport athletes will attempt to break world records, along with a performance by The All-American Rejects.

“Bringing Record Breakers to Revel Surf is about creating moments people will talk about for decades,” Revel Surf Park Co-Founder Cole Cannon said in a press release. “We’re proud to be building a destination where elite athletes can take on historic challenges and where fans can witness the next evolution of action sports, live and in person.”

The park is located near Power and Warner roads, northwest of the Mesa Gateway Airport.

What to expect at Record Breakers event at Revel Surf Park

The event will see four extreme athletes attempt to set new records or land tricks that no athlete has ever landed before.

Motorcyclist Colby Raha, a seven-time X Games gold medalist and holder of multiple motorcycle distance and high-air records, will jump on an e-bike and attempt to set two records — the longest distance jump and highest quarterpipe air.

Raha’s attempt will see him start 300 feet above the pool at Revel Surf Park, go down a ramp and then jump farther than 24.37 meters (80 feet), the record set by professional BMX athlete Jed Mildon in 2022.

After the jump, the plan calls for Raha to ride up a 28-foot-high quarterpipe and, hopefully, reach a height of 100 feet.

“This jump is about making history the right way,” Raha said. “Pre‑recorded stunts don’t compare to the energy of a live crowd. If you’re going to break a world record, it should happen in front of fans so everyone can share that moment together.”

Additionally, Trophy Truck driver Alan Ampudia will attempt to set a new record for the longest Trophy Truck jump and mountain bike riders Dennis Enarson and Andrew Topa will each attempt to land groundbreaking tricks.

Gates will open for the Record Breakers event at 11 a.m.

Fans who purchase an all-access VIP ticket will be able to take part in a meet-and-greet with Raha, Ampudia, Enarson and Topa starting at 2 p.m.

The event will officially begin at 3 p.m. The record-breaking attempts will start at 4:10 p.m., and The All-American Rejects will take the stage at 6 p.m.

Tickets range from $10 to $65 and can be purchased on the Revel Surf Park website.
