PHOENIX — Rescue crews pulled a hiker off of Camelback Mountain on Friday morning after he fell and hit his head, an official said.
Phoenix Fire Department spokesman Capt. Larry Subervi said the 75-year-old hiker fell near the summit while climbing Cholla Trail with a group of eight others.
The man, whose name was not released, did not lose consciousness. He was bleeding from a head wound but members of his party said he was in stable condition.
The Tempe Mountain Rescue Team assisted in taking the man off of the mountain.
Later Friday, the Scottsdale Fire Department said its rescue team helped a 60-year-old man off the Pinnacle Peak Trail who had complained of dizziness and dehydration. The man declined treatment and was not taken to the hospital.
