Worried about earthquakes? There’s an app for that.
The Red Cross has introduced its earthquake app for people in western Arizona, where a big shake could occur.
“It’s really cool,” said Trude Thompson with the Red Cross. “You can see exactly where the earthquake is, where the epicenter is, what the magnitude is and it will also give you instructions on what to do if you are trapped in an earthquake.”
Thompson said Yuma has a large fault line along with La Paz, Mohave and Coconino Counties.
“The people in those areas in particular need to be really aware of earthquake precautions,” she said.
The free app also has tools — like a flashlight, a strobe light and an emergency locator — to aid anyone trapped after an earthquake.
